2008: Advent Conspiracy "1.0" for us at SCC. (see http://www.adventconspiracy.org/)
The birth of Christ is about celebrating the greatest event the world has ever seen. But somehow, it’s become a stressed out rush of traffic jams and shopping lists. Advent Conspiracy is about stopping to turn our hearts back fully to Jesus during Christmas. It can be a world-changing event once again, and worship Jesus fully, spend less on ourselves, spend quality time with each other, and give what we might have spent on ourselves to things that really matter in the long run. So we gave, together. Two projects: Locally, the Everett Gospel Mission Women and Children’s Shelter. They needed to move their administration offices to another building, to create 25 more beds for women and children. Internationally, we partnered with Living Water International to drill clean water wells for villages and towns in northern India. In 2008, SCC gave $17,300 for our Advent Conspiracy gift split between the two projects.

2009: We decided to do a "2.0" version of Advent Conspiracy. Same projects. SCC gave $24,000.
Results: Everett Gospel Mission Women & Children’s Shelter was able to go ahead with renovations and looks forward to opening the additional beds very soon. Living Water International was able to drill or renovate 3 wells in Sierra Leone from our Advent Conspiracy gift: One well is at an elementary school, another in a village, and a third at a mosque. In each place, they shared the gospel as well as the water. They also taught hygiene classes and well-maintenance. Read the reports directly from Living Water International.

2010: ADVENT CONSPIRACY "3.0"
With the Everett Gospel Mission Women and Children’s Shelter project fully funded, we decided in 2010 to make a personal investment in individual lives, both locally and internationally. Two projects: Locally, Antioch Adoptions, http://www.antiochadoptions.org/ dedicated to helping children get into permanent homes of a Christian family, but without all the huge costs to the adoptive family. It costs approximately $8,500 to do a placement. 2,000 children in WA are legally free to be adopted right now. Internationally, we worked with Free Wheelchair Mission http://www.freewheelchairmission.org who provide wheelchairs among the world’s poor. 100,000,000 people in the world need, but could never afford a wheelchair. So we decided to put wheels under as many as we can through FWM.

Results: SCC families donated an overwhelming $44,000! This covered most of the cost for 3 children to be placed permanently and allowed for approximately 366 wheelchairs to go out around the world in the name of Christ!
