Life Groups

Life Groups are the secondary and necessary next step of a student growing in Christ. Not to supersede the value of the larger gathering, but also not diminished by it, Student Life Groups allow those questions that started on Sunday nights to be answered, challenged and wrestled within the midst of a small group of student believers, guided by several passionate and sincere adult leaders or upper level student leaders, who care and support the growth of the student in Christ. It is here that many of the initial fellowship bonds created on a Sunday night are deepened to a close friendship/peer accountability level. It is also here, that the deepest questions that reflect the personal challenges of each individual student arise.

These life (affinity) groups are centered around a group of students that already like and trust each other and generally share common interest and life points (i.e. they all are on the JV soccer team at SHS) and then we team those groups up with one leader that they relate to. These groups are no large than 3-5 students and 1 leader. By doing this, we capitalize on the comfort of a small, intimate group for spiritual depth and trust building between students and leader, opening up more opportunities for spiritual and personal development of each individual student.

To really grow in Christ, you have to be held up and surrounded by others. With that in mind, we meet at various times, days and locations, based on the schedule of the students and leader in each group. Girls with girls, guys with guys for in-depth bible study, fellowship and prayer time. If you really want to grow in your relationship with Christ, this is the place to be!
